About

Welcome to my new pottery studio in Leesburg, Florida! If you ever wanted to try your hand at pottery or want to expand your current knowledge of the craft, here’s your opportunity.
I’ve been on a journey making things out of clay since high school and have made all different kinds of work. I’ve made functional pottery, decorative pots and for the last five years I’ve been sculpting clay chairs. The possibilities are endless as I continue to discover and be excited about the next leg of the journey. I am very happy to say that this moment in time is especially exciting now that my husband and I have completed building our dream home and an 800 square foot studio. Mark has helped me achieve a life-long dream to have my own studio looking out into the woods. At the present time I am coordinating the The Pottery Studio for the City of Orlando and have been for the last 21 years. It’s been very rewarding seeing the effect that creating something out of clay has done for people and I’d like to extend that endeavor in my quiet retreat in Leesburg. So please come visit my studio and experience creating something out of clay, I promise it will be worth the drive.

I am giggling over your use of the phrase “next leg of the journey” because you’re making CHAIRS.
very cute.
wow, I have a Mark husband. I dream of an 800 square foot studio. it’s nice that one of us got it !!!
but you deserve yours — i just play with art – it’s like therapy, I guess, and so much fun. maybe someday, i’ll make a sale of something and then I can say “i am a working artist” !
ENJOY that beautiful space.

Hi Maria,
It’s nice to hear from you. I have a couple of woman coming this Saturday for a wind chime workshop, would you like to come? Is there a time or day your thinking about? Give me a call: 321-239-7334. Thanks!

Hi Annie,
Good to hear from you and good to hear your working in clay. How did your cowboy sculpture turn out?
The only thing about living so far out is we don’t have access to many programs especially sculpture. If your willing to drive to Orlando, Crealde is an option. But if your really serious consider taking a week long workshop that features portrait sculpture. It’s money well spent and you’ll make big strides in your abilities immersing yourself in the medium. Here is a couple of links:

The Armory in Palm Beach has Debra Fritts this coming February, excellent workshop facilitator. I had her in our studio in Orlando. Check out this link:

Good luck and stay in touch!
Warmly,
Kimberly

Annie,
I am thinking that you were the woman that was sculpting a head that was her first attempt at clay over in the Villages recreation center. Did you live up north and have a nursery?
I emailed Phillipe to see if he’d come to central Florida to do a workshop, he’s considering it. His workshop I took last year was very helpful…..I just have to keep working at it to really get good at it.
Take care,
Kimberly
